Changed Lives

"He’s taken my life with past errors and is working something beautiful"

‘My life essentially revolved around the words “fun, money, women” and the question “Where’s the party?” The incentive to make money was so I could be the “main man” with all eyes on me.

Every now and again I would get an attack of “conscience” I would ask myself what my life was really about and if I died tomorrow what would happen? A phone call from a friend announcing the latest club or party soon wiped away all such thoughts. Surely all I needed was loads of money and a very good party to make me feel good.

I was an average everyday person, a good guy, I knew a lot of people worse than I was, in fact I was a saint or so I thought. I had a master plan! I’ll make loads of money, party and have loads of fun now and then I’ll give my life to Jesus just before I kick the bucket! To me it was a smart plan!

I became a Christian 7 ½ years ago. I’d been partying and chasing money for a while but I’d come to realise that there was more to life. I had loads of questions and needed answers. Why was life so hard? Why bother living? There’s got to be more to life than 9 to 5. There had to be more to life and I was willing to try anything.

I look back now and see that my life was like operating my very own complicated VCR without the operating manual. I was steering my boat without the compass and in fact I was a fool.

Jesus puts his arms around me with His words, through His people or even through circumstances and I am assured all is well! Since I have invited Jesus in He’s come alongside me, He’s taken my life with past errors/mistakes and is working something exceedingly beautiful out of it.’
